Text From Source: The information about Charles and his family is accurate to the best of my knowledge, but most of it came from his grandaughter, my Nan, who is still alive at 91! I I am not sure whether his daughters Minnie and Bertha were christened those names or if they are family nicknames or shortenings, as Edith was always called Edie, Henry was Harry and John was known as Jack. I have just realised I actually know very little about what they did etc. I know Edie married a Mr Mercer and lived in Teynham, Kent. Bertha married and moved away to Birmingham, but don't know her married name and Jack moved to Whitstable, initially he was a gamekeeper, but following an accident with a gun, he lost a middle finger, he became a herdsman on a farm; and we still live in Kent. |
