Maytum & Medicine

After recently revisiting research on the MAYTUM family, I determined12 children of Charles MAYTUM & Emma FAGG, who emigrated to Iowa, USA in 1864.

I believe that their son, Wellington, was a very prominent physician and played an important part in Iowa state politics. In fact, medicine appears to be a chosen family profession.

In addition, Wellington and his brother Walter married two SYFERD sisters.

I intend to investigate this family in a lot more detail.

I believe your Charles was nephew ofmy ancestor, John Maytom (Maytum) who married Sarah Fagg. John’s brother, James, was Charles’ father.
A son of John and Sarah was sent to Australia in 1826.
I think this is all of the same family
