One thing leads to another …

Whilst searching for information on Joseph BALDOCK (b. 1846 in Womenswold, Kent), I located a record in The National Archives (TNA) for my father’s uncle, Percy William Joseph BALDOCK, which indicated Royal Navy service. My father had hinted at this previously. Something to follow up ….

Also in TNA, found a Joseph BALDOCK, aged 17, serving in the Royal Navy from 1843 to 1855. Would suggest birth around 1825. Probably the same one listed as a “Greenwich Pens(h)ioner” in the 1871 Census of Worth, Kent. Does not appear in my tree yet, but worth investigating ….

    My Dad, Raymond Baldock was born in Pluckley and died 10 years ago at 73 – he had two sisters Kath and Betty and 4 brothers Ben, Ken, Pat, Alf and Ernie of them all only Ben, Ken and Kath survive
